Leslie A. Chiaventone and Mario F. Lopez were united in marriage at 5 p.m. June 24, 2017, in St. Boniface Catholic Church in Louisville, Kentucky. Deacon Andy Heinsohn of Louisville officiated.
Jetta Chiaventone and the late Michael Chiaventone of Herrin, are the parents of the bride. The bridegroom is the son of Alfred and Eula Lopez of New Orleans, Louisiana.
The bride wore a strapless ivory satin mermaid gown from the Martina Liana Collection, featuring a sweatheart bodice with blocks of asymmetrical pleats at the neckline. The fit-and-flare skirt emphasized box pleat accents just above the knee. A strand of silk-covered buttons graced the mid-back of the dress down through the chapel train. The bride carried a hand-constructed bouquet of white roses, tulips, and hydrangeas.
The matron of honor was Kelley Dacus, sister of the bride, of St. Louis, Missouri. Bridesmaids were Yvonne Dufour and Vanessa Batson, sisters of the groom, of New Orleans.
The best men were Dominic Lopez, of New Orleans, and Robert Boggio, Jr., of Houston, Texas, brothers of the groom. Groomsman was Tom Summers, of New York, New York, cousin of the groom. Ushers were Noel Halpin and Joshua Warren, both of Louisville, friends of the bride.
The organist was William Lincoln and the vocalist was Danielle Curtsinger, both of Louisville. Readings were given by Mary Brehm and Lauren Halpin, also of Louisville, friends of the bride.
A dinner reception followed the ceremony at the Seelbach Hilton Hotel. Music was provided by 64West. Prior to the wedding, a rehearsal dinner was at Volare’ and a day at Churchill Downs racecourse.
The bride, a graduate of Southern Illinois University Carbondale, is on the faculty of the University of South Florida, Tampa. The groom, a graduate of Samford University, Birmingham, Alabama, is employed by Wellcare, headquartered in Tampa.
After a honeymoon in Exuma, Bahamas, the couple resides in Tampa.
