WAUKEGAN — Prosecutors in suburban Chicago have charged a man with first-degree murder in the slayings of his wife and teenage daughter.
Lake County prosecutors say police responded Sunday night after 53-year-old Anthony Marcus called to report he had killed his wife and daughter in their Waukegan home and that he was going to kill himself.
At the home, police found the bodies of his 50-year-old wife, Sun, his 17-year-old daughter and a dog.
Police say Marcus was treated for apparent self-inflicted wounds. He appeared in court Monday, where a judge ordered him held in lieu of $5 million bond. He was represented by the Lake County's Public Defender's office, which did not immediately return a call for comment.
Authorities haven't said how the victims died. Autopsies were scheduled for Monday.
