Little women and big events

CARBONDALE - Carbondale Community Arts are celebrating the fictional lives of Meg, Jo, Beth and Amy March, the beloved characters of Louisa May Alcott's "Little Women." CCA will feature a production of "Little Women the Musical," tea party and book and film discussion throughout this week.

The tea party will feature a meet-and-greet with the McLeod Summer Playhouse cast, sample authentic period refreshments, free signed copies of "Little Women," book reading, viewing of antique period dresses, Little Women bookmark designing and prizes.

This 19th century bash will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday in Carbondale Public Library. There will also be a small film festival at 7 p.m. Monday through Wednesday at the library, concluding with a discussion on Wednesday night.
