Take a stab at horror film knowledge

Anyone who has amassed a cemetery-sized amount of horror film knowledge can finally prove that those late nights watching Freddy or Jason slaughter promiscuous teenagers was leading to something.

The Dead Quiz, which is available on The Southern's Web site, rips 10 gruesome deaths from horror films and challenges the contestant to identify the flick. But it's not all fun and games. A poor grey man stands above the answers and loses a body part with every incorrect answer. He's counting on every test-taker to do their best, especially because the first wrong answer robs him of an arm and destroys his dream of playing the harpsichord. Keep answering them wrong and he'll end up a burning heap of what used to be a little grey man. If that doesn't inspire people to do their homework beforehand, nothing will.

With humorous graphics and questions recalling some of the most brutal horror movie moments, horror buffs may find the quiz to be a nice distraction. Or they may just like watching the little grey guy burn.
