It is time for my second, "best of breed" book on personal finance, a great gift for those with more month at the end of their money.
The book is “You’re Broke Because You Want to Be” by the six-time bestselling author, award-winning speaker and icon in the world of personal development, Larry Winget.
Winget is extremely memorable. Many watch him on national TV with his bright, colorful shirts and direct message. If you listen, you will hear no-nonsense truth and wisdom on multiple subjects.
With all the personal finance books, why does this book top my list?
One, it is small and short — only 204 pages. He gets right to the point and does not waste my time.
Second, he goes over and above the regular — spend less than you make dogma.
Third, many pages on practical and common-sense methods for getting ahead.
Fourth, a section on five people that started with humble beginnings, who figured out their systems and are now millionaires.
Fifth, Larry describes what worked and more important what didn’t.
An ancient Proverb says learn from one that has been down the road, knows the potholes and more important, how deep. Winget qualifies this with his journey from hitting rock bottom to becoming mega successful.
The bottom line — if you know someone who is drowning in debt, lives paycheck to paycheck but wants to get back on track and turn things around —this book is for them and maybe for you too!
Plan your work, work your plan and learn to share your harvest!
