To celebrate the coming of spring, Carbondale Community Arts is hosting an exhibit, titled "Flora," in the Corridor Gallery at the Carbondale Civic Center.

The display is up now, and will be on view through May 2. The exhibit showcases six Southern Illinois artists' exploration of plant life. Featured artists are Kenall Bell, Bettie Claus, Karen Linduska, Mary Packikara, Susan Phillips and Jan York.

Each artist has their own unique style and techniques, including pen and ink, photography and painting. The flora captured in the work take inspiration from the plants that surround the artists in their personal gardens, neighborhoods or throughout their travels.

Additional works from the exhibit will also be on display in the Artspace 304 gallery from April 26 to May 25.

The Carbondale Civic Center is located at 200 S. Illinois Ave. and the gallery is open for viewing from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and during all public events.
