The Schweinfurth Museum at the Jefferson County Historical Village is officially opening for the season on Saturday, May 5.
This year's exhibit is titled "Food, Clothing and Shelter: The Three Necessities of Life." Each exhibit section is divided into three time periods: 1816 to 1830, the first settlement period of Jefferson County; the 1800s to the early 1900s; and the 1950s.
On Saturday, the museum is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. After that, the museum will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays and from 1 to 4 p.m. Sundays through the last weekend in October.
There is no charge to view the exhibits, but donations are appreciated. The Jefferson County Historical Village is at 1411 N. 27th St. For more information, call 618-246-0033.
