MARION — Featuring awe-inspiring shots of some of the region’s most storied structures and scenes, Matt Linsin Photography’s “The Darkest Light” collection is now on display at the Marion Cultural and Civic Center.
Patrons can buy prints from Linsin, who endured sub-freezing conditions and sometimes-precarious terrain to capture glimpses of Southern Illinois at her most stunning.
“I took all of the photos at either nautical or astronomical twilight which is just past sunset,” Linsin said. “This required trading sleep for photography, but it paid off.”
Linsin is the award-winning advertising voice of Mississippi River Radio. Serving as Creative Director and Producer, he works with businesses to define their brands and reach their audiences. Now he’s trying to do the same for his photography.
“I love taking photographs of familiar faces in unexpected ways,” Linsin said.
The Darkest Light is currently on display in the lobby of the Marion Cultural and Civic Center. People can view it from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday or any time there is an event.
