CARBONDALE — Two "char-crossed" lovers take the stage for The Stage Company’s first production of the 2017-2018 season in a comedic musical.
Ronny and Julie find themselves at the Verona National Ribfest barbecue competition where their families are competing for the top prize. With a cast of seven diverse characters and a story that features the antics of two feuding barbecue families a la William Shakespeare classic "Romeo and Juliet," "No Bones About It" is a production full of love and music with a much happier ending than Shakespeare’s play.
Performances will be on two weekends: Friday, Oct. 13 through Sunday, Oct. 15, and Thursday, Oct. 19 through Sunday, Oct. 22. Thursday, Friday and Saturday performances are at 7:30 p.m., and Sunday shows are at 2 p.m.
Tickets are $15 for general admission and $8 for students. All tickets for the Thursday, Oct. 19, show are $7.
Tickets will go on sale at The Varsity Center for this show, and for the 2017-2018 season, at 5 p.m. Friday, Oct. 6. Tickets may be purchased online at stageco.dxrgroup.com or at The Varsity Center box office. Season tickets are only available at the box office.
From 6 to 7:15 p.m. before the Friday and Saturday performances, a barbecue dinner will be sold for $8 per plate.
