The Stage Company is holding open auditions for its next production, a live staging of the classic fantasy tale "The Hobbit," based on the novel by J.R.R. Tolkien.

In the Stage Company's production, Bilbo Baggins will leave the comfort of his home to recover an important treasure, and, embarks on an incredible journey.

The script was adopted by Patricia Gray. Susan Harrocks will direct the production.

There are several roles for men and women of all ages, and roles for children 10 and older. Performances will be July 13 to 15 and July 19 to 22.

Auditions are from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Monday, April 30, and Tuesday, May 1. Callbacks will be at the same time on Wednesday, May 2. Rehearsals will begin June 1.

Sides from the script will be given for the audition. Anyone who wishes to audition is asked to come prepared with any possible conflicts. Parents with children auditioning are also encouraged to audition.
