The annual Lights Fantastic parade will roll through downtown Carbondale on Saturday, and The Varsity Center is gearing up to serve patrons expected to fill The Strip for the annual holiday celebration.

The Varsity Center will participate in the pre-parade cookie walk, offering free cookies and treats, hot cider and hot chocolate. The center will also light its Christmas tree during that time, at 4:30 p.m. The cookie walk is from 4 to 6 p.m.

The gallery inside The Varsity Center will also host some holiday cheer with three holiday villages set up in a winter wonderland for guests to stroll. The villages will also be on display during an open house from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 9 and 10. The gallery is also open from 2 to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday for viewing.

The Stage Company is also presenting "The Game's Afoot; or Holmes for the Holidays" on Saturday after the parade.
