Mr. and Mrs. Donald Davis will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary at an open house from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 17, in Crab Orchard School multipurpose room.
Donald and Carolyn Lyell were married Dec. 23, 1966, at the home of the Rev. Ray Beasley in Crab Orchard.
Mr. Davis was a farm laborer for C.T. Parks, and worked at Park's Western Store in Marion. He also worked at Peabody Coal Co. in Shawneetown and Old Ben 25 Coal Co. in West Frankfort.
Mrs. Davis was a server at A & W Drive-In in Marion. She was also a homemaker, assistant manager at Family Dollar in Marion and office assistant for Karnes Trucking in Marion.
The couple has three children, Tina Barger of Marion, Dawn Meador of Suffolk, Virginia, and Carrie Tapley of Tunnel Hill. They also have six grandchildren.
Family and friends are invited to attend.
