The Rev. and Mrs. Gary L. Clark of Pittsburg will celebrate their Golden Wedding Anniversary with a reception given by their church from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, July 9, 2017, in Oasis Community Church of the Nazarene at 2101 McHaney Road in Harrisburg.

The Rev. Clark and the former Peggy Prior were married June 30, 1967, in Mount Zion Freewill Baptist Church in Thompsonville. Although a retired teacher from Johnston City Schools in 2000, the Rev. Clark, an ordained elder in the Church of the Nazarene denomination, continues in his 39th year of uninterrupted pastoral ministry. Prior to pastoral ministry the Rev. Clark served 14 years in music ministry.

The Rev. and Mrs. Clark have served as pastor of the following churches including Grange Hall Freewill Baptist Church, Goreville; Omaha Church of the Nazarene, Omaha; Harrisburg First Church of the Nazarene, Harrisburg; Parkway Church of the Nazarene, Decatur; and Faith Chapel, Carrier Mills. They are currently serving in their 10th year as pastor of Oasis Community Church of the Nazarene, Harrisburg.

Mrs. Clark, a retired teacher from Johnston City Schools, has been a faithful companion, minister’s wife, and homemaker during these years.

The couple have two children, a son, Dr. Brent Clark and wife, Kathy, of Pittsburg; and a daughter, Andrea and husband, the Rev. Bryant, Harris of Pittsbug. They also have three grandchildren, Samuel Clark Harris, Benjamin Clark Harris, and Hannah Auten.
