Lieutenant Colonel Jarett D. "Jay" Broemmel and Krysta Svore, Ph.D., were married Dec. 12, 2015, in Forest Ridge Chapel of the Sacred Heart in Seattle, Washington.
Lt. Col. Broemmel is the son of Bo and Judy Broemmel of Marion. Dr. Svore is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Mark Svore of Issaquah, Washington.
The groom graduated from Marion High School in 1991 and West Point in 1995. He deployed to Iraq four times. During his years in the Army he held positions with the 3rd Infantry Division, 101st Airborne Division, Multi-National Security Transition Command, 2nd Infantry Division. He was a Battalion Commander, director of the Stryker Warfighter's Forum and Deputy Director of Army 1 Corps at Ft. Lewis, Washington, before he retired from the U.S. Army in January 2016.
Currently he is enrolled in the Executive MBA program at the University of Washington, Seattle.
The bride earned her bachelor of arts in mathematics, with a minor in computer science and French, from Princeton University in 2001. She received her doctorate with highest distinction in computer science from Columbia University in 2006.
She currently manages the Quantum Architectures and Computation Group (QuArC) at Microsoft Research in Redmond, Washington.
The couple resides in Seattle, Washington.
