Jennifer Leigh Butcher and Jason Dee Sigler were united in marriage at 11:30 a.m. Monday, Dec. 30, 2013 in the Jackson County Courthouse in Murphysboro. The Hon. Kimberly L. Dahlen officiated.
The bride wore a simple floor length gown of ivory silk crepe with cap sleeves and a peach-dipped hem, complimented by a blusher veil and carried a bouquet of ivory and blush roses with pepper berry.
Mr. and Mrs. Louis Butcher of Carbondale are the parents of the bride. Mrs. Doris Smith and the late Mr. Floyd Smith of Carbondale are the grandparents of the bride.
The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Todd Sigler of Carterville. Mr. and Mrs. Larry Sigler of Sierra Vista, Ariz. And Mrs. Lucy Ettinger and the late Mr. Dwayne Ettinger of Rock Falls are the grandparents of the groom.
The newlyweds greeted guests at a seated dinner at Tom’s Place. After a honeymoon to Ireland and France, the newlyweds will reside in Carbondale.
The bride is a graduate Carbondale Community High School in Carbondale. She graduated from Southern Illinois University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in poetry, and is currently working towards a Master of Fine Arts degree in children’s literature from Hollins University and a Doctorate of Philosophy degree in media arts.
The groom is a graduate of Carterville High School in Carbondale. He graduated from SIU with a Bachelor of Science degree in marketing and is currently employed as the director of search marketing with Highline Ideas in Carbondale.
