Melissa McMahan and Jason Voss were united in marriage on July 20, 2013, in an outdoors ceremony at Rend Lake in Ina. The Rev. Gale Lowery officiated.
Mr. and Mrs. Douglas and Linda McMahan of Mount Vernon are the parents of the bride.
The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth and Susan Voss of Mascoutah.
Maid of honor was Ashley Snow. Bridesmaids were Katelyn Lewis, Sherri Churillo and Stephanie Waggoner. Flower girls were Sarah Voss and Kylie Snow.
Best man was Brandon Voss. Groomsmen were James Hodel, Justin Hogman and John Kaufman.
Ushers were Caleb Voss and Brett Snow.
The newlyweds greeted guests at a reception in Green Hill Country Club in Mount Vernon.
The bride is a 2005 graduate of Webber Township High School, a 2005 graduate of Rend Lake College with an Associate of Arts and Science and a 2007 graduate of SIU Carbondale, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in social science education. She will graduate with a master’s degree in reading and language studies from SIU in December. She is a language arts teacher at Trico Jr. High School.
The bridegroom is a 2002 graduate of Mascoutah Community High School, a 2005 graduate of Southwestern Illinois College with an Associate of Science in radiological technologies, and a 2009 graduate of SIU with an Associate of Science in aviation flight and a Bachelor of Science in aviation management. He is an assistant flight instructor at SIU, a CT/MRI technologist at Memorial Hospital of Carbondale, was a 2nd Lt. in the Illinois Air National Guard and is a candidate to fly aerial refueling military aircraft.
