Southern Illinois Healthcare unveiled a fresh, new look to Senior Advantage, its old membership program.
Renamed 'The Second Act,' the program, which is open to adults 50 and older, offers more evening programming, larger social events and a new community service initiative called The Good Deed Porject.
The project identifies an adult (or couple) 50 or over, with a unique need such as a transportation challenge, a home repair problem or even something more involved such as a medical condition they need help with. Once chosen, members of The Second Act will help determine how best to make the individual's life more manageable.
Readers are invited to send in nominations for individuals and families in Southern Illinois who could do with some help in a seven-country area: including Jackson, Williamson, Johnson, Saline, Union, Perry and Franklin counties.
Nomination forms and guidelines are available at all SIH hospitals and may also be downloaded from the SIH Web site. Nominations for the project must be postmarked by March 1
