WEST FRANKFORT - The West Frankfort branch of the U.S. Postal Service will be renamed in honor of a native son during a dedication ceremony this afternoon.
The Kenneth James Gray Post Office Building will be christened at a 3 p.m. ceremony at the "Old Firehouse" event center, 108 N. Emma St., Suite 1D.
Legislation to change the post office's name was sponsored by Congressman Jerry Costello, D-Illinois, who is scheduled to speak during the event.
Gray was first elected to Congress in 1954 and served 10 successive terms. He ran again in 1984 and served another two terms.
