SPRINGFIELD-AMVETS Department of Illinois Commander William Scheffel of Chicago, will be in town to visit local AMVETS Post 4 in Mount Vernon this Friday. Althought the original schedule said Scheffel would arrive at 5 p.m., the scheduled has changed to a 4 p.m. arrival.

Commander of Post 4 Ava Carpenter and other local veterans will be at their post home, located at 1207 Main St., to welcome Scheffel.
