JACKSON COUNTY - A Vergennes woman escaped a one-car crash with minor injuries, Monday, although her vehicle burned up in a blaze.
Mary Lanius, 34, was driving west on Beaucoup Road when she swerved to avoid a deer, about 8 a.m.
Lanius lost control of her vehicle, police said in a release, and went off the road, rolled upside down and the vehicle caught fire.
Lanius was wearing a seat belt and managed to escape with only minor injuries. She was taken by private vehicle to an area hospital.
The vehicle was destroyed in the fire. Jackson County Ambulance and Vergennes Fire Department responded to the scene.
