Jeffrey R. Hartline, 38, of Dongola was sentenced Thursday to five years and three months in federal prison, according to A. Courtney Cox, U.S. attorney for the Southern District of Illinois.
Hartline had previously pleaded guilty to a one-count indictment charging him with conspiracy to manufacture methamphetamine. He must also serve four years of supervised release and pay a $300 fine.
The offense took place between January 2006 and April 5, 2008, in Union, Jackson, and Marion counties, the prosecutor said in a news release.
Two co-defendants have already received prison terms of 210 months and 100 months, and one co-defendant has pleaded guilty and is awaiting sentencing.
The investigation was conducted by Union County and Jackson County sheriff's departments and the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration. The case was prosecuted by Assistant U. S. Attorney Amanda A. Robertson.
