A Grayville man was killed in a fatal accident Saturday morning involving a motorcycle and a tractor-trailer.
The semi, driven by David Johnson, 69, of Moline was stopped at the intersection of I-64 and Illinois 1 in White County at about 9:38 a.m., according to Illinois State Police District 19.
For unknown reasons, the truck turned northbound onto Illinois 1 into the path of a southbound Honda motorcycle, driven by Joseph Browning, 34, of Grayville.
Browning's motorcycle struck the driver's side of Johnson's truck, resulting in injuries that would turn fatal for Browning.
At the time of the crash, Browning was wearing a helmet and Johnson was wearing a seatbelt. Johnson was not injured.
Illinois Department of Natural Resources Conservation Police, the White County Sheriff's Department, the Edwards County Sheriff's Department, the Grayville Police Department, the Grayville Ambulance Service, the Garyville Fire and Rescue and the White County Coroner's office assisted with the accident.
