Randolph County Relay for Life set to begin preparations

RANDOLPH COUNTY - The Randolph County Relay for Life Committee and Teams are gearing up for the Relay to take place May 29-30 from 6:30 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. at the Sparta Airport facility.

The event features free concessions, live entertainment and camping opportunities.

The following dates are involved in the planning of the event:

-Jan. 5 - 6:30 p.m. - Kick Off planning meeting at the Sparta Community Hospital Auxiliary Building

-Jan. 22 - 6:30-8:30 p.m. Kick Off at St. John's Lutheran Church in Sparta with speakers and a chili sup-per

-Feb. 2 - planning meeting for the committee at 6 p.m. and team captains at 6:45 p.m. at the Sparta Com-munity Hospital Auxiliary Building

-March 2 - planning meeting for the committee at 6 p.m. and team captains at 6:45 p.m. at the Sparta Community Hospital Auxiliary Building

-March 8 - Cancer Survivor Dinner at First United Methodist Church in Sparta

-April 6 - planning meeting for the committee at 6 p.m. and team captains at 6:45 p.m. at the Sparta Community Hospital Auxiliary Building

-May 4 - planning meeting for the committee at 6 p.m. and team captains 6:45 p.m. at the Sparta Community Hospital Auxiliary Building

-May 29-30 - Relay for Life Event from 6:30 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. at Sparta Airport

Bank Night will take place at First National Bank of Sparta, Broadway and Market. The date for that will be released later.
