ZEIGLER - One person was transported to an area hospital following a hit-and-run accident in Zeigler, Tuesday night, police said.

Assistant Chief Dennis Estes said Wednesday that the names of the people involved were not being released because the investigation is ongoing.

He said one individual was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The two-vehicle crash occurred just outside King's Tavern on Illinois 148 in Zeigler at about 8:30 p.m. The cause of the crash is under investigation, and Estes declined comment on whether or not all persons involved in the incident had been located by law enforcement.
