AVA - Wilson's Funeral Home in Ava confirmed the victim of a fatal Thursday morning accident as Donald "Duce" McBride of Ava.

McBride was the only person involved in the single vehicle accident that occurred on the Johnson Creek Bridge on Illinois 151 in rural Ava at 1:48 a.m.

His 1995 Ford Ranger pickup truck was traveling northbound when it left the road, struck a guardrail and subsequently hit the bridge.

The accident is still under investigation by the Jackson County Sheriff's Department.

McBride graduated from Trico High School in 2003 and enlisted in the Illinois Army National Guard. He was deployed to Iraq in 2005.
