UNION COUNTY - No one was injured this morning when a school bus en route to the Jonesboro school district slid off a road southeast of town, a Union County Sheriff's Department representative reported.

The bus was on Boyd Road around 7:30 a.m. when it lost traction on a patch of ice and slid off the road.

Some roads throughout the region continue to be slick with a thin coating of ice over them. Temperatures are expected to rise into the 40s later today, according to the National Weather Service in Paducah, which will start to melt the ice.
