CHESTER - A public hearing to approve a proposed property tax levy increase for the city of Chester will be at 6:30 p.m. Monday at city hall, 1330 Swanwick St.

The estimated total property taxes to be levied for 2008 are $700,000. This represents a 9.161 percent increase from 2007.
