CARTERVILLE - To educate and inspire caretakers and patients with lung disease, The American Lung Association of Illinois will have a Respiratory Rally from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday in the John A. Logan College Conference Center.

Program Director Lori Younker said that with the success of the rallies in other parts of the state, the organization decided it was time to bring one to Southern Illinois. She said it is hopeful that they will be able to have a rally in Southern Illinois every year. Events include learning about risk for Alpha-1 antitrypsin deficiency and screenings, a luncheon and an opportunity to direct questions to a panel of doctors.
