The Jackson County Sheriff's Department reported on Monday that deputies on the scene of a meth lab clean-up site Saturday found a six-foot king snake inside a zipped-up duffel bag. Sgt. Dave Nichols, in a press release, said the snake's presence was no accident but had "obviously been put in the bag with the meth items to harass the police."

The dump site was at a cemetery on Ziegler Road in a rural area between Murphysboro and De Soto.
