FRANKLIN COUNTY - One man was injured in a two-vehicle wreck in rural Franklin County Friday morning.

Francisco Rebolledo, 27, was taken to Herrin Hospital for treatment of injuries after his vehicle collided nearly head-on with a car driven by Susan Brooks, 55, Sheriff Bill Wilson said.

Rebolledo was traveling west on Illinois 149 at about 9:15 a.m., while Brooks was headed eastbound near Deason Road. Rebolledo of Zeigler told deputies he was on his way home from work when he apparently fell asleep and drifted into Brooks' lane, Wilson said. The vehicles collided at the top of a railroad overpass, leaving Brooks with no opportunity for evasive action, he said.

Neither Brooks of Zeigler, nor her passengers were injured.

Rebolledo was cited for improper lane usage and driving while license expired.
