A Colp man won a $650,000 lottery prize with a winning ticket he bought in Herrin.

Michael Sherrill, who has lived in Colp for 32 years, bought a Lucky Day Lotto Quick Pick ticket at the Huck's in Herrin, and matched all five numbers in the Thursday, Nov. 2, drawing to score the prize.

According to a news release from Illinois Lottery, Sherrill and his wife plan to share the money with family, donate to their church and invest the rest.

The Herrin Hucks, at 520 S. Park St., received a bonus of $6,500 for selling the winning ticket.
