Information about a Carbondale school district could be more accessible with the hiring of a communications director.
Carbondale Elementary School District 95 has a job posting on its website for a communications director to work on communicating with the public concerning education matters.
Carbondale Community High School District 165 Superintendent Steve Murphy said while it is technically a District 95 position, the districts are exploring the possibility of sharing the person with the high school.
Murphy said it could be a situation where the high school would pay for 20 percent of the salary, meaning the hire would work on CCHS communications for one day of the week, or it could be 40 percent, meaning two days a week.
He said it was discussed with the high school board and there was a favorable reception to entering into some sort of an agreement with District 95.
The job was posted on Feb. 23. Applications will be accepted until the position is filled. The posting also says it is preferred that the hire resides within CES 95 boundaries.
Job openings with the district can be found at www.ces95.org/employment.
