CARBONDALE — The Carbondale Park District received nearly $4,000 from McDonalds, through Ronald McDonald House Charities.

The charity donated $3,798.79 to the district, which will use the funds to support swimming lessons for students who attend Parrish School in the Carbondale School District No. 95.

Moreland-Bishop McDonalds Representative Stephanie Bishop presented the check to the district, saying the organization appreciates the work the district does to enrich the lives of children. She added the organization is happy to support its efforts.

Kathy Renfro, park district executive director, expressed gratitude for the donation and said she will ensure the money goes toward helping local children with swimming lessons.
