Carbondale resident Buelah Simmons scratched an Ultimate Crossword ticket and instantly won a top prize of $750,000, according to a news release from Illinois Lottery.

Simmons said she buys one instant lottery ticket every week, and bought the winning ticket at Shell, 2301 Reed Station Parkway in Carbondale. The Shell station received $7,500, 1 percent of the prize amount, for selling the winning ticket.

“I’m so happy to have this money to share with my family during the holidays,” Simmons said in the release.

Ultimate Crossword is a $25 instant ticket featuring top prizes of $750,000 and $75,000.
