A Royalton man was arrested Monday after shooting a gun into the air, according to the Carbondale Police Department.

Jordan Kalinsky, 20, has been charged with unlawful use of a weapon by a felon.

At about 11 p.m. Monday, a business owner in the 600 block of East Main Street in Carbondale reported a vehicle, with a woman driving and a male passenger, pulled up to the rear of the building. The male then produced a gun and fired into the air and drove away.

Officers then located the vehicle parked nearby, which was occupied by a juvenile woman. Kalinsky, the suspect who allegedly fired the weapon, was also found nearby, police say.

The juvenile was taken into custody for a curfew violation and later released to her grandmother. Kalinsky was taken to the Jackson County Jail.
