CARTERVILLE — At 7:30 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 8, Carterville Police Department responded to a report of a theft from a construction trailer in the 700 block of Jonathan Lane, according to a news release from Carterville Police Chief Heather Reno.

An investigation revealed that between approximately 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 6, and 7 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 8, the locking hasp on the side door of the trailer was cut and approximately $4,000 worth of tools were stolen while it was parked at a job site. The investigation is ongoing.
