A stabbing in a Marion sports bar Saturday night left three people injured, and a Marion man was arrested in connection to the incident.
Officers with the Marion Police Department responded to a report of a stabbing at 11:40 p.m. Saturday at Heartland Sports Bar, located at 1802 Bittle Place, according to a news release from the department.
Officers discovered that a woman and two men had been stabbed and that the assailant had fled the scene.
One victim, a 39-year-old woman, had a stab wound just above her right hip; a 32-year-old man was stabbed on the left side of his rib cage; and a 36-year-old man was stabbed in his left upper leg.
The victims were transported to Heartland Regional Medical Center. Police did not provide any information about their conditions. Other people involved in the incident identified the suspect as Marion resident Billy C. Gressett.
Gressett, 37, was later arrested. He has been charged with three counts of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and driving while license suspended.
