MARION — A public hearing to approve a proposed property tax levy increase for the City of Marion will be at 6 p.m. Monday in Marion City Hall.
The corporate and special purpose property taxes abated for 2016 were $1,797,751.93. The proposal for 2017 is $1,831,152, which represents a 1.86 percent increase.
The total property taxes extended for 2016 were $1,797,751.93. The estimated total for 2017 is $1,831,152.
