The Night's Shield's new program, The Children's Crisis Shelter, is now open in West Frankfort, according to a news release from The Night's Shield.
The Children’s Crisis Shelter program serves families from the entire state, especially Southern Illinois. According to the news release, the program is a temporary emergency child care shelter that provides short-term care for children from birth to age 18, and for families who are experiencing a severe disruptive crisis.
Also, with cold temperatures, homes that are unexpectedly without heat or flooded because of broken pipes, are also crisis situations. The Night's Shield can provide a warm, dry, safe, and cozy place temporarily for their children.
The release states children receive 24-hour quality crisis care for 24 to 72 hours, depending on the needs and goals of the family.
