The Jackson County Sheriff's Office arrested a man on Friday afternoon on an out-of-state warrant, after originally receiving several reports  that the man could have been involved in thefts and burglaries.

Officers responded at about 1:32 p.m. to the Campbell Hill area, and located a man on Illinois Route 4 west of Campbell Hill fitting the description of the subject. The man ran into the woods to avoid capture.

Due to the proximity to Trico schools, the district was notified and took security measures. At around 3:05 p.m., the man, 23-year-old Terry Warbritton of Arkansas, was taken into custody. Warbritton had an active warrant from that state for a parole violation, in addition to new local charges of possession of stolen property and obstructing/resisting arrest.

The investigation is ongoing and additional charges are possible.
