A jury found an Anna man guilty on three counts of obstructing a peace officer, one count of escape and one count of aggravated assault, all Class A misdemeanors, according to a Wednesday news release from Union County State’s Attorney Tyler R. Edmonds.

Roderick Lynn Hileman, 48, was found guilty of the charges after a three-day jury trial.

The release states that in the early morning hours of July 20, 2015, Hileman threatened an Anna Police Officer in the parking lot of an Anna business. Hileman then pulled away from police as he was being arrested and fled on foot, but was arrested after a brief foot pursuit.

The sentencing hearing has been set for Nov. 30 at the Union County Courthouse in Jonesboro. The Class A Misdemeanors carry a maximum penalty of one year in jail.
