An Anna woman was sentenced to state prison for burglary, according to a Friday news release from Union County State’s Attorney Tyler Edmonds.
Samantha Jo Stanton, 24, was sentenced to three years after pleading guilty to burglary, a Class 2 Felony.
Stanton was arrested in October 2016 after an investigation by the Union County Sheriff’s Office. The release states Stanton stole checks from the residence of an elderly man in rural Anna and then used the stolen checks to purchase items from an Anna retailer.
