JONESBORO - A Dec. 15 pre-trial date has been set for a 23-year-old Anna man charged with hiding information and evidence from police as they attempted to search for the attacker of two elderly women in a local church.
Jared Garver pleaded not guilty to all four criminal charges against him during an appearance in Union County court Tuesday. He is charged with unlawful possession of a weapon by a convicted felon, as well as three counts of obstruction of justice.
Garver allegedly gave false information to police in September, while they were looking for Willis E. Bates, who now stands accused of the attempted murder of Mary Shepard and Leona Mount, two workers at First Baptist Church of Anna.
Garver is out of jail on bond.
