BENTON -- A Benton man was cited for improper lane usage and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident in connection with a fatal wreck Monday, state police said.

Richard Logsdon, 37, was traveling north on Interstate 57 when his vehicle crossed over the median and into the southbound lanes just south of Benton.

His pick-up truck collided head-on with a passenger car driven south by Janice M. Gielda, 66, Prescott Valley, Ariz. Gielda suffered fatal injuries in the crash. Logsdon suffered major injuries, state police said.
