A Carbondale man was sentenced to three years in state prison after pleading guilty to the charge of unlawful possession of methamphetamine, according to a Wednesday news release from Jackson County State's Attorney Michael C. Carr.

Kyle A. Wills, 29, faced the charge after officers from the Carbondale Police Department were dispatched to Kohl’s Department Store on April 24 regarding a report of a suspicious vehicle possibly involved in a retail theft. Wills, along with two others, were near the vehicle, and a small amount of methamphetamine was located inside the vehicle.

Wills was identified as the driver of the vehicle, and the other occupants acknowledged that Wills was the person in possession of the methamphetamine.

This matter was investigated by the Carbondale Police Department.
