Dayshawn Michael Holmes, 20, was sentenced to three years in prison and two years of mandatory supervised release Tuesday in Jackson County court on one count of burglary, according to a news release from Union County State’s Attorney Tyler R. Edmonds, who acted as special prosecutor in the case.

Holmes was arrested in July 2017 following an investigation by Carbondale Police. Holmes burglarized a vehicle in the 800 block of West Main Street in Carbondale.
