Union County State’s Attorney Tyler Edmonds announced the following sentences to the Illinois Department of Corrections, according to a Tuesday news release from his office:

Gina D. Summers, a/k/a Gina D. Cox, 48, of Marion, Kentucky, was sentenced to five years in state prison after pleading guilty to one count of continuing financial crimes enterprise. Summers wrote eight separate fraudulent checks from an account that did not exist, payable to a local business over a period between December 2013 and October 2014.

Robert E. Lutz, 60, of Anna, was sentenced to six years in state prison after pleading guilty to one count of financial institution fraud. Lutz wrote multiple checks payable to local businesses between February 2016 and July 2016 knowing the checks to be fraudulent. Lutz was arrested in September 2016 after an investigation by the Union County Sheriff’s Office.

Nicholas D. Horton, 24, of Dongola, was sentenced to six years in state prison after pleading guilty to one count of unlawful possession of methamphetamine. Horton was arrested in November after a traffic stop conducted by Jonesboro Police, and was sentenced as a Class X offender based upon prior criminal history.

Joshua S. Farner, 32, of Marion, was sentenced to six years in state prison after pleading guilty to one count of aggravated possession of a stolen firearm. Farner took possession of multiple firearms from a rural Union County residence in August 2014.
