A Grand Tower man is incarcerated at the Jackson County Jail after he fled from police after he allegedly held a woman against her will inside a convenience store.
According to a news release from the Jackson County Sheriff's Office, Keith A. Ticer, 29, on Thursday afternoon fled from police who responded to the Cardinal Corner convenience store in Grand Tower after they had received a report from a woman that she had escaped after Ticer had held her against her will. As police approached Ticer inside his vehicle outside the store, he drove away.
A slow speed pursuit took place, with speeds never exceeding 35 mph, according to the release. Ticer eventually lost control of his vehicle and drove through a fence, and then fled on foot. He ran into the woods along the Mississippi River, at which point the sheriff's office called in a K-9 unit from Elkville Police Department.
Ticer was then seen running from the woods, and deputies apprehended him after he tried to hide inside a shed.
Ticer is incarcerated on two warrants that are unrelated to the Thursday incident. The release states the investigation into the incident is continuing, and more charges are anticipated.
