Carterville Police are asking for help in solving a burglary from the weekend.

According to a news release, Carterville Police responded to a report of residential burglary at about 8:15 p.m. Sunday in the 300 block of Marcia Drive. Through initial investigations, police learned that between 9 a.m. Saturday and 8 p.m.Sunday entry was forced to the residence and “jewelry, cash and a handgun were stolen.”

The report says evidence was collected and the investigation is ongoing.
