MURPHYSBORO - A man pleaded guilty to and was sentenced for theft from several vending Carbondale vending machines Wednesday in the Jackson County Courthouse.

James D. Eddings, 44, made the plea as part of an agreement with prosecutors and was given 4 years in prison, according to a release from the Jackson County state’s attorney’s office.

Eddings damaged and stole from several coin-operated vending machines at various Carbondale businesses between May 19 and July 10 of 2012, prosecutors said.
